Welcome to the world’s most headache worthy/intense workout that I have participated in. I never knew why a church like St. Paul had the admission charge it did ($20 just to enter!), until I went inside. First off, it was a MASSIVE church, with the highest ceilings I could ever think imaginable. It also made me think about how the hell did people manage to build this thing without having the technology that we do nowadays!
But the most impressive part about St. Paul is its 360 viewpoint of all of London. It is one of the best views I have ever seen. What makes this adventure so exciting is that you have to WORK to get that view! I kid you not, I climbed half a mountain and died like fifteen times climbing this thing. You have to climb up over 500 of the most narrow, claustrophobic steps that I have ever seen. It was like a never ending spiral stairwell that just goes up and up.
However, it was all worth it once I got to the top. Looking out, I was amazed by how beautiful and ugly London was. It was all so gray and drab, yet I loved every single building I saw. It was so crowded and meshed up and everything looked like a toy from where I was standing. It was definitely one of the most beautiful London views I have seen and no picture could ever record.
